We live immersed in an increasingly automated world, where we all tend to live mechanically, with our eyes and minds glued to PCs and smartphones, where everything is a constant virtual exchange—never real, never tangible.
When we thought about what the Mhodì brand should represent, the reference to Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin came naturally.
We wanted to capture in a single image the idea of free music—outside the box, beyond conventional gears.
We live immersed in an increasingly automated world, where we all tend to live mechanically, with our eyes and minds glued to PCs and smartphones, where everything is a constant virtual exchange—never real, never tangible.
We are constantly bombarded with images and stereotypes that glorify perfection: the perfect makeup, the perfect body, the expensive car, the luxurious home, the right place, the right friend, the right timing.
But what does “right” even mean?
What makes a person “right”?
Their success in life? But what does success mean?
Success, noun. [From Latin successus – “event, good outcome,” from succedere, meaning “to happen” or “to succeed”]. – (Treccani)
This word actually has such a broad meaning, yet it’s used in an incredibly narrow and limiting way.
It seems the world does everything it can to make us believe that if we’re not inside the mechanism, the system, we’re out.
Out of everything.
That’s exactly where Mhodì was born—from this reflection.
Because behind a job like ours there cannot—and must not—be an automated assembly line.
Because music is creativity, on every level.
And yet, even in the art world, there are pre-built mechanisms, and we’ve deliberately chosen to stay outside of them.
To not conform to the rules dictated by a market whose destiny is always controlled by a few puppet masters.
Music is a job—yes.
And it’s a very serious and incredibly difficult job.
But we are all free to choose how we want to work, without submitting to what “the market” says—by simply doing what we love and what moves us.
And we at Mhodì need to be free, so we can always stay inspired, stay curious, and give the right attention to discovering quality music from talented artists around the world.
